The publication recently held its ‘Top Corporate Allies For Diversity’ Gala Honoring Top Companies on October 23rd, 2014 at Club 101 in New York City.
Lori Sokol, Ph.D., Founder & Publisher of Difference Matters Magazine, hosted the event with over 200 VIPs ranging from corporate executives, performing artists, celebrities, philanthropists, authors, models, entrepreneurs, TV news media, and activists. As a Contributing Writer for The Huffington Post and past Board Chair of Women’s eNews, Sokol is one of the nation’s most influential writers and editors covering women’s issues, politics, business, and LGBT issues. Other panelists featured during the event included Loreen Arbus, President of The Loreen Arbus Foundation, Dara Richardson-Heron, M.D., CEO of the YWCA USA and Sam McClure, Vice President of the National Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce.
Companies honored by Difference Matters Magazine for their pioneering leadership in LGBT equality for 2014 included: AT&T, Barclays, CA Technologies, Cadwalader Wickersham & Taft LLP, Delta Airlines, Discovery Communications, Interpublic Group (IPG), Merck, Mondelēz Global LLC, Morgan Stanley, Nielsen, Quest Diagnostics, Turner Construction and Viacom. All of the honorees are profiled in the Fall 2014 special awards issue of Difference Matters Magazine which debuted at the Gala.
