“Touch me like you do/ What are you waiting for?” prompts Ellie Goudling, the 28-year-old English singer/songwriter, in her latest song.
The artist, known for her hits like “Lights” and Calvin Harris’ “I Need Your Love,” shows off her slow, indie pop sound in the single, which reflects the goings-on of Fifty Shades pretty well.
“You’re the color of my blood/ You’re the cure, you’re the pain/ You’re the only thing I wanna’ touch/ [….] Follow me to the dark.”
The song is just that: dark, mysterious, and sensual– with a hint of light at the end of the tunnel; it exists in a realm that is neither black or white, but truly grey.
Other songs said to be included in the upcoming movie’s soundtrack are versions of Beyoncé’s “Crazy In Love” and “Haunted” as well as The Weeknd’s “Earned it.”
What do you think of the soundtrack so far? There is definitely a common, contemporary R&B feel to the music with plenty of desire that pushes us to the limit.
The movie, which just received an ‘R’ rating from the MPAA, is set to release this February on Friday the 13th– right before Valentine’s Day.
