One of the most fascinating aspects of our blue planet is the amazingly diverse life that exists here thanks to the wide range of habitats that species have adapted to living in. Sadly, human impact and activity is directly and indirectly affecting millions of species of plants and animals around the globe and their populations are quickly dwindling. Some scientists actually call the current state of natural affairs an “extinction crisis,” with thousands of extinctions occurring every year. While many animals are on the radar for endangerment, we’ve put together a gallery of those animals that are currently at the most critically endangered status of survival.
If you’re wondering how you can help, the World Wide Fund for Nature, or WWF, works tirelessly to help promote healthy ecosystems and successful conservation initiatives to support our world’s unique biodiversity. You can help by making a donation, adopting an animal, and spreading the word on the WWF website. The extinction crisis is all of our problem, and every voice counts.
These animals will soon disappear from Earth if we don’t take action.
