Joan Jett to Front Nirvana at 2014 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony

The 2014 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony will see Joan Jett to front Nirvana’s performance.

The induction ceremony is set to take place Thursday.

Rumors about the collaboration began to spur when drummer Dave Grohl posted an Instagram photo to the Foo Fighters’ account that features Krist Novoselic’s bass, Pat Smear’s Fender Stratocaster, Grohl’s drum set and Jett’s Melody Maker.

This means that R.E.M. frontman Michael Stipe will sub as the group’s lead singer.

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction will take place at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center and will be air on HBO, May 31. In addition to Nirvana, other 2014 inductees include Cat Stevens, Daryl Hall and John Oates, The E Street Band,Peter Gabriel, KISS and Linda Ronstadt.
