The 1980’s is a time that Kevin Bacon feels has been pushed aside and not reflected on enough.

The kids these days, the ‘Millennials’, have no idea of the hardship that people growing up pre-85 experienced. He was those post-85 babies to show some respect for that decade’s culture and technology.

The 1980’s hearthrob and Footloose star explains the differences to growing up then to growing up now in this hilarious video from Mashable.

From asking a girl out by looking her up in the White Pages and calling her house only to have to speak to her mom “for like, 20 minutes” before she could even speak to her.

Bacon then turns to current events, comparing the tweeting about the current situation between United States and Russia schooling them about a little thing called the Cold War. This was a much bigger deal in the 80’s. “They had nukes pointed at us for 20 years. You couldn’t even skateboard to a Blockbuster without getting nuked.”

The camera crew must have been a Millennial because Bacon couldn’t keep their attention for “more than 2 minutes” and storms out of the interview in a huff.

Oh and don’t forget the Parachute Pants – those Millennials will never know just how comfortable they were.
