If you didn’t love Adam Levine and Maroon 5 before – get ready to join the fold.
Christopher Warner, a self-proclaimed super fan of the group that has Down syndrome, got a huge surprise when he was invited personally to attend the band’s live concert.
Warner’s special education teacher Avery Stanert helped the 10-year-old nab the invitation when she posted a compilation video of the fan singing along to all of his favorite Maroon 5 hits. Afterwards, she tweeted the video at local radio station Hot 99.5’s The Kane Show, who managed to get Adam Levine and the rest of the band in the picture.
“He has just been fascinated with Maroon 5 and especially Adam Levine,” Avery told Today.com. “He loves to listen to their music during work breaks. He draws pictures of them. He just absolutely loves them.”
Christopher and his mother were given backstage passes and tickets to Maroon 5’s concert in Washington, D.C., and finally he was able to meet his idol in person. However, Christopher was so overwhelmed by the introduction (which anyone could empathize with,) and slowly sunk to the ground in a full-fledged panic attack. (We get it, Christopher!)
Instead of moving on with their busy schedule, Adam suggested that they get right down there on the floor with Christopher. “He was very shy at first. I kind of got down on the floor and he was hiding behind me,” Christopher’s mother Celia told ABC News. ” Then Adam said ‘That’s OK, we’ll all get down on the floor’ It wasn’t beneath him to lay down on a locker room floor with Christopher.”
Christopher may have spent his dream-come-true moment supine with his favorite rocker, but it clearly didn’t lessen the moment for him, as made proof-positive by the pictures floating around the internet.
It won’t be a moment forgotten by either party involved, but especially for Christopher.
