Time to celebrate…

It looks like a few more songs about rainbows might be headed your way – on the weekly!

A new Muppets pilot is reportedly in the works, according to a tweet from Production Weekly. TV guru Randall Einhorn is slotted to produce and direct – so you can be expecting something on par with his previous sitcoms like The Office, It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Parks and Recreation and Modern Family. With a resume that boasts some of the best comedies on television today, there’s no way this reboot could disappoint.

You’ve probably noticed the furry, felted friends making a major comeback over the past few years thanks to Disney and people like Jason Segel who rebooted Kermit, Miss Piggy, Gonzo and the rest of the gang’s careers back in 2008 with The Muppets, and then again in 2014 with Muppets Most Wanted.

Fans have been pining for a more regular dose of Jim Henson’s best friends since the last series – Muppets Tonight – fell off the air in 1998.

The Muppets are finally ready to come back in full force in the new millennium – and with the right reimagining, this show is one that could bring a member from every generation to the couch to sit together and enjoy Henson’s greatest creation.

So practice your ukulele Kermy – we don’t want you looking too green for your biggest comeback yet.

EPIC news! Kermit, Miss Piggy, Gonzo and the whole gang might be taking over your television on a weekly basis.
