John Oliver, host of Last Week Tonight, loves to poke fun at anything and everything–even poor pumpkin spice lattes. But when you throw him a softball like the robotic “shopping assistants” that Lowe’s is introducing this holiday season, it’s game over.
“Robot assistants are a terrible idea,” Oliver said on his show. “Here’s why: sales associates at home improvement stores are not there to help people find things. They’re there to stop couples from tearing each other apart.”
With the help of actor Nick Offerman, from Parks and Recreation, Oliver created an ad that he said that he would air if he was a Lowe’s competitor.
