President Barack Obama will be delivering his 7th State of the Union speech tonight (Jan. 20) at 9 PM EST.

With the newly Republican controlled Congress, most Americans might feel that this State of the Union Address will be trivial. However, there may be more proposals by the president than many may think.

The United States is seeing its best job growth since the 90’s. Unemployment is currently at 5.6%. Manufacturing in the U.S. is back, gas has dropped, and deficits have been cut. So now that the financial crisis is over, Obama will be talking about how everyone in America will be benefitting.

The president will most likely be addressing his proposal for free community college, discuss the advances in internet access to communities that have felt left out, and mention the benefits of the new relationship that the U.S. is forming with Cuba. As mentioned, Obama will be talking about the two years that are left of his term as president and how we as a nation will not just be continuing the momentum of the economy, but capitalizing on its success.

If you didn’t already know, the president is a huge sports fan. So the speech tonight should absolutely be watched, because like Obama said last December, “My presidency is entering the fourth quarter. Interesting stuff happens in the fourth quarter.”

Will you be watching the president’s speech tonight. Find out why you need to tune in…
