Several alleged risqué celebrity photos, including Jennifer Lawrence, Kate Upton, Ariana Grande, Victoria Justice and many others, began spreading all over the web and social media last night. The images of over a dozen celebrity women were leaked via an apparent hack of stars’ cloud accounts.
The Huffington Post reported:
The Los Angeles Police Department told HuffPost that they have “no knowledge” of the hacking “at this time.” The FBI said they could not confirm or deny reports of the attack. Apple did not return a request for comment.
The hacker claims to have more NSFW pics as well as videos. The user offered to release more media in exchange for money.
After the images flooded the internet the celebs affected quickly responded. Jennifer Lawrence’s reps said, “This is a flagrant violation of privacy. The authorities have been contacted and will prosecute anyone who posts the stolen photos of Jennifer Lawrence.”
Kate Upton’s attorney mirrored those statements saying, “This is obviously an outrageous violation of our client, Kate Upton’s, privacy,” he said. “We intend to pursue anyone disseminating or duplicating these illegally obtained images to the fullest extent possible.”
Both Victoria Justice and Ariana Grande’s camps claimed that the photos leaked of them were fake.
Victoria Justice posted this to her Twitter account:
In the recent past Scarlett Johansson, Mila Kunis and Chris Brown are among a number of celebrities who have had nude photos leaked to the public.
