Scarlett Johansson to Star in ‘Ghost in the Shell’

Scarlett Johansson has been offered $10 million to play the lead role in a live-action adaptation of the Japanese manga comic Ghost in the Shell. Rupert Sanders is set to direct the film. The 29 year-old actress recently starred in the Avengers: Age of Ultron, and in the past played in Ironman 2, and The SpongeBob SquarePants Movieso this won’t be Johansson’s first rodeo.

DreamWorks was interested in giving Margot Robbie the lead role up until she signed with Warner Bros.’s DC Comics for a lead role in Suicide Squad. Johansson “should have some time in her schedule, considering rumors that her character will play a small-to-non-existent role in Captain America 3, as opposed to the very significant role she had in The Winter Soldier.”
