Seth and Lauren Miller Rogen sure know how to please a crowd.

Rogen and his wife helped to host the third annual Hilarity for Charity this past week, helping to raise over $900,000 for Alzheimer’s research.

“Today more than 5 million Americans are living with Alzheimer’s disease, and an American develops Alzheimer’s disease every 68 seconds.” These statistics are projected to climb rapidly over years to come, without any known cure for the deadly disease. These shocking facts inspired the couple to focus their attention on raising awareness.

Seth and Lauren started Hilarity for Charity three years ago to raise awareness and support for those affected by Alzheimer’s. Together, the power couple has created an initiative among colleges and universities nationwide by encouraging them to throw their own fundraising events, calling the program Hilarity for Charity University. In their “inaugural semester [they] raised over $128,000!!!” And, “the University of Vermont’s Pi Kappa Alpha’s took the top prize with over $27,000 raised!” Lauren’s family (pictured below along with her brother Dan and father Scott) have been caring for her mother since she was diagnosed with the disease several years ago.

Not only did they raise a lot of money at the fundraiser, they also raised the roof!

Hip-hop group Bell Biv DeVoe crowned the evening along with a hot bill that included Sarah Silverman, Weird Al Yankovic, and Joseph Gordon-Levitt. At the end of the evening, Rogan and his wife jumped onstage to join BBD for Poison–a perfect moment. The musical collaboration couldn’t have made Rogen happier. According to Vulture, his 8-year-old self once said, “One day I’m going to sing with those guys.” Well done, Seth.

The opening lyric from their hit 1990 single rang true for the event, “Let’s cure it ’cause we’re running out of time.”
