The 18th Annual Webby Awards Nominations

Yesterday (Apr. 8), The International Academy of Digital Arts & Sciences (IADAS) presented it’s nominees for The 18th Annual Webby Awards. Some of the biggest names on the internet are vying to win, including the likes of Medium, Buzzfeed, Airbnb, QuizUp, and Vine. And it doesn’t stop there, celebrities like Jay ZBeyonceJustin BieberKanye West, Pharrell Williams and Ellen DeGeneres are also in the running.

The Webby Awards is the leading international award program honoring excellence on the Internet, including Websites, Interactive Advertising & Media, Online Film & Video, Mobile & Apps, and Social. There are two honors presented for every category, The Webby Award and The Webby People’s Voice Award. The New York Times described the awards program as the “Internet’s highest honor.”

To make sure your favorite nominees will be recognized make sure to cast your votes for the Webby People’s Voice Awards. Voting is open from now until Thursday, April 24th at 11:59PM/PST. Winners will be announced on Tuesday, April 29th.

David-Michel Davies, Executive Director of The Webby Awards said:

“This year’s Nominees really start to show the promise of a connected society where our social interactions help shape and enable so much of our daily life. We are excited to share these outstanding works with the world and see which ones the public will choose as Webby Winners.”

A special ceremony for the winners will be held on May 19th and will also be available on demand at WebbyAwards.com the following morning.

With more than 12,000 entries from over 60 countries worldwide and only 8% selected as nominees, who will take home their silver spring?
