Big Bird, Cyndi Lauper, former U.S. President Bill Clinton, James Franco, Neil Degrasse Tyson, Randy Newman and pretty much everyone else important that you wish you were friends with sang goodbye to Stephen Colbert and his ten epic seasons onThe Colbert Reportduring the final airing of the show last night.

The song “We’ll Meet Again,” made popular by Dame Vera Lynn in the late ’30s, is a wartime song but it’s plenty applicable for saying goodbye to those you want to see again (and we’ll be seeing Colbert again very soon on a revamped version ofThe Late Show when he takes over for David Letterman!)

Colbert also established himself as an ‘immortal’ after killing off the grim reaper, aka “Grimmy.” He signed off by joining the ranks of the other immortals, including Santa Claus, Abe Lincoln andJeopardyhost Alex Trebek, and flying off into the night on Santa’s sleigh.
